First Contract To Dales From James Fisher Tankships
17 October 2008

Another Vessel At Dry Dock In Record Breaking Year

Dales Marine Services has successfully completed work on its first contract for James Fisher Tankships, valued at approximately £300,000.

The repair and maintenance work was begun on the 4,842 tonne tanker 'Chartsman' in the Dales dry dock facility at Aberdeen Harbour. The vessel was then re-floated and repairs finished in a programme which lasted around three weeks.

As well as painting the hull, Dales replaced the main engine crankshaft and overhauled the vessel's tailshaft, thrusters and valves, as part of a regular major survey.

Michael Milne, General Manager of Dales Marine Services, said: "We are delighted to have worked with James Fisher Tankships for the first time on a scheduled docking. The 'Chartsman' was worked on in our dry dock, which is due to service a record 50 vessels this year. In fact, this week alone, we have secured another two orders for mid-2009."

Dales Marine has a wide portfolio, servicing a range of oil industry vessels, tankers, ferries, tugs and commercial vessels.
