Calmac ferry stops by Dales Marine at Garvel

CMAL’s passenger and vehicle ferry the ‘Loch Ranza’ is operated by CalMac.

Built in 1987 at Richard Dunstons of Hessle, North Humberside, the ‘Loch Ranza’ has been on many crossings but has operated on the Tayinloan to Ghiga crossing since 1992. It measures 30m long with a 10m beam and 206 gross tons and can carry 200 passengers and 9 cars with 3 crew.

The vessel was required to dock at Garvel for 3 days to carry out steelwork repairs to vehicle ramps.
