'DORADO DISCOVERY' Surveying to Decommissioning

The ship Dorado Discovery is a Research ship registered in United Kingdom. The vessel deadweight is 1448 tonnes and is 98m x 16m in length. It was built in 1993 and is a dynamically positioned survey vessel with a large aft deck and an A frame. She provides an ideal platform for the more complex survey applications. This vessel has been contracted all over the world on deep sea survey projects. Due to the limited demands now for this type of work it entered drydock in Leith in September to decommission some of the underwater survey equipment, which included the removal of Sonars and a large steel Gondola.

The vessel then has since sailed to other European ports looking for work.
