Full works for Vos Protector

March 2016

Vos Protector, an ERRV purpose built in 1983 and owned by Vroon Offshore, entered Leith for scheduled dry docking. Whilst at dock the vessel underwent a full hull wash, preparation and paint work, replacement of the hull anodes and removal of the sea inlet and outlet valves ready for overhaul and survey. The main propulsion, Schottel SRP505/505, had a unit that required seal changes on site and another unit that required full bearing and seal changes.

A number of main engine and propulsion coolers were removed by Dales Marine for cleaning and testing. Minor repairs were carried out to the main engine and auxiliary engines, the FW pump and fuel injectors were replaced and the davits and cranes were then surveyed and load tested. Boiler servicing, tank inspections, electrical testing and the supply of tank vents completed another successful docking for Leith Dry Dock.
