Overhauls and repairs complete on Strathdon

Owned by JP Knight Group and managed by Caledonian Towage, Strathdon was formerly known as Azuma Maru or Keverne. The 32m x 13m tug docked at Garvel over 14 days for a series of overhauls and repairs.

Garvel carried out the full overhaul of both Niigata 6L28HX engines and Yanmar auxiliary engines and a survey was carried out to the Z-peller propulsion units. Repair work and replacements were made to the tubular and tyre fender. Work to the tug also included a full hull HP wash and paint, a tank survey and clean, the removal and overhaul of the hull valve, electrical survey and repair and the tiling and cleaning of crew accommodation.
