VOS Sentinel at Leith for scheduled dry docking

May 2016

VOS Sentinel, an ERRV purpose built in 1982, is owned by Vroon Offshore. VOS Sentinel visited Leith for scheduled dry docking, where it underwent a full hull wash, preparation and paintwork and hull anode replacement. Whilst at dock, the sea inlet and outlet valves were removed for overhaul and survey. The main engines were then given a top end overhaul and bearing replacement, and the auxiliary engines underwent minor repairs which included the fuel injector and fuel pump.

A number of main engine and propulsion coolers were removed for cleaning and testing and these were refitted on completion. The main propulsion was oil changed and inspected, and the davits and cranes underwent a five year survey and load testing. To finish, the vessel’s boiler was serviced, tanks inspected, electricals tested, and a number of tank vents were electrical tested and supplied.
