VOS Supporter docked in Leith for survey
February 2016
VOS Supporter, an ERRV owned by Vroon Offshore, entered Leith for scheduled dry docking to receive a full hull wash, preparation and paint, hull anode replacement and removal of the sea inlet and outlet valve for overhaul and survey.
The main propulsion, Schottel SRP505/505, had one unit with seal change in situ and another removed and brought to the workshop for complete overhaul including bearing and seal changes. A number of main engine and propulsion coolers were removed for cleaning and testing which were then refit on competition. VOS Supporter’s main engine and auxiliary engines had minor repairs including fuel injections and FW pump replacement.
This was followed with a five year survey to the davits and cranes along with load testing. To finish, boiler servicing, tank inspections, electrical testing and the supply of numerous tank vents completed the successful docking at Leith.
