SD Warden docks in Garvel for 17 day programme of works

The SD Warden is a Mooring and Weapons Recovery vessel owned and operated by Serco Marine and contracted to assist The Royal Navy. This vessel was built in 1989 by Richards of Lowestoft and measures 49m long, 11m beam and 691GRT

Recently docked at Garvel for 17 days the Workscope included;

· Full hull HP wash and paint

· Tank inspection, cleaning and certification

· Ship side rubber belting repairs

· Hull anode replacement

· Hull valve overhauls

· Bow thruster removal to workshop for full overhaul

· Removal of both rudders for class survey

· Both tailshafts removed for class survey and new seals fitted

· Main engine and generator overhauls

· Steelwork repairs
